The Process
We first take impressions of your teeth, which are used to create your custom Invisalign aligners. Then new aligners are created at intervals as your teeth adjust. Q: What are the advantages of Invisalign?
A: For the cases that qualify for Invisalign, Invisalign is usually faster at aligning. It is more comfortable. There are no wires poking your gums. There are far fewer restrictions in diet, as you simply take the aligner out to eat (since you can’t take traditional braces out, you have to limit many foods that get caught in wires and are impossible to remove). You don’t have to get special brushes to brush between wires because, again, you can take the aligner out to brush your teeth. And finally, Invisalign is invisible!

A: Invisalign is 50% faster at straightening teeth than other clear aligners due to its proprietary SmartTrac technology.
Six Month Smiles
This is a lesser-known option for getting the smile you love in a shorter amount of time (compared to traditional braces). Six Month Smiles is an amazing approach to orthodontics that we are proud to offer at Ada Smile Place. Unlike Invisalign, Six Month Smiles uses clear, discreet brackets and white wires, rather than a pop-in aligner. But unlike traditional braces, this orthodontic treatment is much less visible and, therefore, is preferred by many adult patients.
Six Month Smiles treats anterior, or front, teeth. Because it has been specially designed to treat minor cosmetic problems for front teeth, it can do so very efficiently. Compared to traditional braces, which can take two years, or Invisalign, which can typically take one year, the Six Month Smiles treatment usually only takes six to nine months. Granted, this timeframe is largely because it’s only treating your front teeth, so it doesn’t necessarily mean that it is faster per case than other methods.
How to Care for Your Six Month Smiles
The care of Six Month Smiles is more similar to traditional braces than to Invisalign. You can not take them out to eat or brush, and patients must brush around the brackets and thread floss through the wires or use a water flosser.
